After 23 years,of production from the North Sea. Statfjord oil-field, more than 60% of the stock-tank oil originally in place has been recovered. The remaining reserves are characterized by complex distributions of oil, water and gas. The main challenge is to identify remaining oil in targets that are becoming increasingly smaller, more complex, and more uncertain, then to drain these targets in the most profitable manner.
