Decomposition of Hydrogen Peroxide and Subsequent Pollutant Degradation in Immobilized Fenton Catalyst
The decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and the subsequent target degradation in Fe/Nafion system were examined in different pH conditions, under photo/dark condition. 2,4-D degradation with H2O2 in Fe/Nafion system can occur up to pH 4.2 ~ 4.6 under photo/dark condition. Fe ion leaching was observed during target degradation reaction under photo/dark condition, and that was explained by reductive dissolution. The explanation of the pH effect on target degradation was tried with the consideration of the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide in different pH conditions.
