There are many attempts to improve the mechanical properties of polymer. One of the attermpts to do that, in this study, (Bis[[3-methyldimethoxysilyl] propyl] polypropylene oxide) network and PPO/silica composite was synthesized by using sol-gel process, which is dispersed at the molecular level. Porous silica gels with high surface area were prepared by calcination of PPO/silica composite. The variation of the surface area of these silica gels at different TEOS swelling time was investigated.
