Durability of Acrylic Resin Coatings Containing Alkoxy Silane
To prepare anti-corrosive and weather-resistant acrylic resin coatings containing alkoxy silane for heavy metals purpose, alkoxysilyl-functional acrylic resins and acrylic resins containing tertiary amine were synthesized by a radical polymerization. White enamel paint was prepared using the synthesized resins and compared with non-yollowng polyurethane coatings and fluoro coatings. Anti-corrosion properties of blishtering showed that the alkoxysilyl-functional acrylic resin coatings containing 10 wt% of 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPTS) and the acrylic resin coatings containing tertiary amine using 5 wt% of γ - glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane and fluoro coatings had superior properties. Futhermore, weather-resistance test results showed that the alkoxysilyl-functional acrylic resin coatings containing 30 wt% of MPTS had superior weather-resistance properties rather than fluoro coatings.
