A Study on the Synthesis and Characterization of 5,7 dichloro-8-quinolinato Europium(III) Chelates for Electroluminescent Materials
Electroluminescent(EL) devices have attracted much attention because of their efficient emission in the visible region and their possible application to a new type of flat-pannel full color display. Of the light emitting materials used for electroluminescent devices, europium complexes have been used as an emitter in order to obtain a pure red emitting devices. In this study, europium(III) complexes which have been coordinated with 5,7 dichloro-8-quinolinato ligands were synthesized and were characterized by (1)H-NMR and FT-IR. spectroscopic method. EL emission was detected at 667nm wavelength of red emission region.
