A NOTE ON PATH-DEPENDENT STRAIN MEASURES AND STRAIN JUMPS IN ISOTROPIC SIMPLE MATERIALS
It is shown here that the method often used for evaluating the discontinuity in various path-dependent strain measures for the idealized step-strain experiment leads to a violation of certain universal relations for isotropic simple fluids and solids. It is further shown how this difficulty can be avoided by a proper description of such discontinuities.
