Investigation of breakdown characteristic of a novel plasma display panel discharge cell with rotationally symmetric structure
Breakdown characteristic of a novel plasma display panel discharge cell with rotationally symmetric structure has been investigated by simulation. The corresponding formulas are given in this article. The electric field and particle density distribution are obtained from the simulation at different times, as well as the variation of average density of particles. The simulation results show that our novel structure has many advantages, such as lower ignition voltage, lower power consumption, higher luminous efficiency, and enhanced response frequency. Without application of energy recovery circuit a luminous efficacy of 0.8-0.9 1m/w is obtained.
