Infinite-dimensional conservative systems and a conservativity condition for the Saint-Venant equations
The topics of this article are infinite-dimensional conservative systems. At first, we define conservative finite-dimensional systems using the base mechanical principle-minimization of Lagrange functional. Then, by generalization, we define conservative infinite-dimensional systems. We deduce differential-algebraic criterion for conservative systems and apply it in obtaining of conservativity condition for the process of open-canal flow. The condition is partial differential equation for the hydraulic slope.
