PRODUCTION AND PROPERTIES OF THERMOSETTING COMPOSITES BASED ON WOOD AND UNSATURATED-POLYESTER MIXTURES
Composites based on wood and unsaturated polyester display, prior to functionalization preceded by an ozone pre-treatment of wood, a higher constraint to flexion rupture, an improved Rockwell toughness and lower hydrophilic and flexibility characteristics than does a pure polyester matrix. The introduction of a hydrophobic additive decreases the hydrophilic character of the composite.
