A method characterising the respective influence of the heated walls: application to the heat transfer in a rotor-stator cavity
This paper presents a heat transfer analysis for a turbulent flow in a rotor-stater system. A method based on the use of thermal influence coefficients is developed in order to determine wall heat transfer. This method is applied to an enclosed rotor-stater system as well as to an air-cooled rotor-stater system with centrifugal or centripetal injection. The comparison between numerical simulations and predicted heat fluxes shows small discrepancies. Then, the influence of the heated wall temperature on the other walls is discussed.
