Effect of Suspended Solid Particles on Mass Transfer in Vertical Slurry Flow
초록
슬러리흐름 내에서 비활성고체입자가 물질전달속도에 미치는 영향을 연구하기 위하여 고체입자농도 5-15%의 조건하에 평행평판전극에서 ferri-cyanide의 환원반응시의 한계전류밀도를 측정하였다. 실험결과 실험범위 전반에 걸쳐서 물질전달속도는 고체입자에 의하여 증가하였고 범위 내의 가장 작은 입자 첨가시 가장 높은 슬러리속도에서 최고 1.4배까지 증진시킬 수 있었다. 이를 설명하기 위하여 고체입자주의를 둘러싸고 있는 반응물질의 경막이 전극표면의 반응속도에 영향을 미친다고 가정하여 유도한 이론식에 의하여 실험범위 전반의 경향을 잘 설명할 수 있었다.
The influence of suspended inert solid particles on the rate of mass transfer was investigated by measuring limiting current densities for the reduction of ferri-cyanide at a vertical parallel plate electrode in the presence of 5-15% particle concentrations. It was found that the rate of mass transfer calculated from limiting current densities was increased by adding solid particles and was increased by 40% compared to that of solid-fre flow. The tendencies of experimental data could be well explained by the theoretical equation derived on the assumption that the clinging film of reactant around the particles had a significant effect on the rate of electrochemical reaction.
