Behaviors of long-chain bifunctional molecule, alpha, omega 13,16-dimethyloctacosanedioate dimethylester (C30DME), at the air-water interface
The conformational change of alpha, omega -13, 16-dimethyloctacosanedioate dimethylester (C30DME) at the air-water interface was studied by changing the surface pressure. The surface pressure (pi)-surface area (A) isotherm of C30DME indicates that the structure of C30DME changes from linear to reverse U-shape with the increase of surface pressure, The conformational change of C30DME was confirmed by several instruments such as an ellipsometer, a Reflection-Absorption IR (RA-IR), and an atomic force microscope (AFM).
