포도당을 함유한 에탄올 발효액 증류공정 개발
Process Development for the Distillation of Ethanol from Fermentation Broth Containing Glucose
초록
대기압 조건하에서 발효공정의 기질로 사용되는 포도당 존재하에서의 에탄올-물 계에 대한 기액평형 데이터를 얻었다. 에탄올-물 계에 포도당이 존재하면 기액평형에 좋은 영향을 미쳐 기상에서의 에탄올 농도가 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 실험 데이터를 이용하여 포도당 농도에 따른 에탄올의 활동도 계수와 액상에서의 에탄올 농도와의 상관 관계식을 제안하였는데 실제 실험결과와 잘 일치하였다. 또한 포도당이 존재하는 경우 전형적인 증류공정에서 이론단수와 비용은 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는 효율적이고 경제적인 발효-증류공정 개발에 이용될 수 있다.
Vapor-liquid equilibrium data were obtained for the ethanol-water system with glucose at atmos-pheric pressure. Ethanol enriched vapor phase was obtained by adding glucose to ethanol-water system. The degree of enrichment increases with the increase in the glucose concentration. The equation correlating the activity coefficient and ethanol concentration in the liquid phase adequately represents the equilibrium behavior. In the conventional distillation column, the theoretical number of plate and cost of distillation de-crease with the iincrease in the glucose concentration. This result can be used to develop an ethanol fermenta-tion-distillation process aiming for high productiivity and low energy consumption.
