Flat-panel structure for field-emission displays with carbon nanotube cathode
A flat-panel structure for field-emission displays (FEDs) is proposed, in which an aligned carbon-nanotube film cathode of direct growth is mounted directly on the base plate with elastic assembling technology. The vacuum package is fabricated with some vacuum-fluorescence-display-like process technologies. This structure and the corresponding technologies are stable and reliable at a modest cost. The FED sample of a pixel display of this structure was made to verify the display structure and to analyze characteristics.
