Reaction of hydrogen with CCl2F2 has been studied on a gamma-Al2O3 catalyst at 300 degrees C. Pure gamma-Al2O3 appears to be unselective in the catalytic conversion of CCl2F2, however, halogenated alumina showed high activity in a reaction leading to the formation of disproportionation products.
