A General Procedure for the Estimation of Diffusivities in Solids
A method for overcoming the difficulty of using realistic interface adsorption kinetics in mass sorption experiments for the estimation of diffusivities in solids is described in this paper. The method is shown to possess three important advantages : 1) Complex kinetics are allowed for interface adsorption processes 2) Analytical solutions can be obtained for arbitrary interface kinetics 3) No additional parameter is introduced in the estimation problem An important special case is worked out in detail.
