Designer and operators of cogeneration plants do require simple to handle tools for effective work and easy estimations. This report presents a method for the determination of the best economical way of operation and for the influence of changes in fuel and electricity costs on the economy of the plant operation. With appropriate simplifications this method can further be used fora preselection of different cogeneration plants for a specific application.
