Gas chemistry: Status and prospects for development
Natural gas is increasingly widely used in energetics and industry. In the world energy balance, its share was almost equal to petroleum's. Explored gas reserves constitute 60 trillion m(3), and 40% are Russia and CIS countries. Gas chemistry processes using natural and associated petroleum to prepare practically important chemical compounds began to be developed intensively in the second half of the 20th century.
