Some applications of salt-water oscillator in Chemical Engineering teaching and process equipment design
In this work, we have proposed several theoretical and experimental activities using the salt-water oscillator as study object. This activity will be performed by students of Chemical Engineering with the purpose to develop technological applications for this device, had as a simple hydrodynamic curiosity that was discovered by S. Martin in 1970. In the present time, the saline oscillator comes exhaustingly being studied, due to its non-linear dynamic features, under physical and mathematical point of view. Given the absence of practical uses for this device, some applications are proposed that could be formulated to students through exercises and experiences of Chemical Engineering laboratory.
