Shift of the absorption spectrum of organic dyes due to saturation
We measure the absorption spectrum of a rhodamine 101 solution in ethanol in the spectral region 555-583 nm as a function of the incident light fluence. We show that increasing the field fluence results in a blueshift of the spectrum and absorption depletion with no spectral broadening. These results are explained in terms of a model that includes the influence of the solvent over the spectrum of the dye molecule.
