6-beta-Hydroxygrindelic acid and 3-beta-hydroxygrindelic acid were produced from grindelic acid by Alternaria alternata. The best yields for 6-beta-hydroxygrindelic acid (25%) and for 3-beta-hydroxygrindelic acid (55%) were obtained after 180 h.
