Lipase-Catalyzed Esterification in Organic-Solvent to Resolve Racemic Naproxen
Lipase from Candida cylindracea was used to catalyze the enantioselective esterification in isooctane to resolve naproxen. The conversion was 33.5% over 11 days. The enantiomer excess of product (ee(p)%) was about 100% at this conversion when octanol acted as the other substrate.
