Sizing elongated crystals using a width distribution function: Application to aspartame
A method is developed for sizing crystals (and other particles) having elongated shapes. The procedure requires a limited number of microscopic measurements and uses a prescribed distribution function for crystal widths. Measurements involving aspartame crystals are used to illustrate the methodology.
