Electrochemical study of substituted triazoles adsorption on mild steel
Two triazole derivatives were synthesized, and their inhibiting ability for scaling and corrosion process was checked using various electrochemical techniques. Potentiodynamic polarization studies clearly reveal the fact that triazole derivatives are good mixed-type inhibitors. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements confirm the corrosion inhibition ability of substituted triazolesin 1 M HCl. The inhibition efficiencies, calculated from these two techniques, are in reasonably good agreement and are very similar in the two cases, the more planar molecule being slightly better. The adsorption of these inhibitors is also found to obey the Langmuir adsorption isotherm.
