Synthesis of aliphatic alcohols. The problem of catalyst selection
The results of investigations of the synthesis of methanol and higher aliphatic alcohols from synthesis gas are presented. The experiments were carried out in a high-pressure fixed-bed microreactor. The CuO -ZnO-Al2O3 catalyst promoted with a varying amount of K, Fe, Mo and Th prepared by the coprecitation showed a good activity and selectivity. The influence of additives on activity and selectivity was investigated.
