The principle of equipartition of forces in chemical reactor design: The ammonia synthesis.
We show that the principle of equipartition of forces can be used to design energy efficient reactors also when the rate of reaction is a non-linear fuction of its driving force. The design of the ammonia reactor is discussed as an example. We show that isoforce operating lines are generally useful in evaluating trade-off situations when increased output is weighted against reduced entropy production or reactor size.
