Pressure drops and hydraulic resistances in a three-phase hollow fiber membrane contactor with frame elements
The pressure drops and fluid flow frictions have been measured in a frame-type three-phase membrane contactor consisting of 1058 polysulfone hollow fibers with 0.6 mm inside diameter using nitrogen, oxygen, and water-glycerol mixtures as working fluids. The results were compared for two different positions of the shell-side tube connections and for two different flow lines inside the fibers. The dependence of tube-side and shell-side Eu on Re was correlated for each phase and flow line.
