Short-term planning of blending processes: Scheduling and nonlinear optimization of recipes
Applying mathematical programming techniques has been round to be a favorable approach to solve the task of short-term scheduling of blending processes. The approach presented in this paper is based on a Resource-Task Network representation of the process and offers a flexible and user-friendly treatment of the scheduling problem. User-defined objectives and constraints can be easily included in a straightforward way. By making use of a strategy to coordinate scheduling and nonlinear recipe optimization an overall optimization can be achieved.
