THE COMPLEXATION OF CD(II) WITH SODIUM DIETHYLDITHIOCARBAMATE
The stability constants of diethyldithiocarbamate with Cd(II) ion have been determined in 50% dioxane medium of ionic strength I = 0.1M with sodium percholorate as a supporting electrolyte at 25.0 degrees C. The constants have been measured potentiometrically by means of an amalgam electrode. Studies of the complexation of the Cd(II)-Et(2)DTC system show that two strong mononuclear complexes were formed in the range of concentrations studied. The stability constants of the cadmium (II)-carbamate system were found to be beta(1) = (1.0 +/- 0.3) x 10(4)M(-1), beta(2) = (1.4 +/- 0.8) x 10(7)M(-2).
