Electrical explosion of cold thin metal films
If the current density in the cold metal film is gradually increased, then the following processes take place in the metal: the thermoelectronic valve phenomenon, the heat wave, the deformation wave, and finally, the electrical explosion of the cold metal. The amount of energy released during the explosion is much greater than the energy required for its initiation.
