Synthesis, Characterization and Mode of Thermal-Decomposition of Oxalate Complexes of Cadmium(II) and Zinc(II) with Hydrazine, and Cobalt(II), Nickel(II) and Copper(II) with Hydrazinium Cation
The reaction of CdSO4 with hydrazine and hydrazinium oxalate in aqueous solution at several pH values leads to the formation of various complexes, Only three complexes were successfully isolated : Cd-2(C2O4)(2) . N2H4, CdC2O4 . N2H4 . O.5H(2)O and CdC2O4 . 1.5N(2)H(4). The reaction of ZnSO4 with hydrazine and hydrazinium oxalate produces only the complex ZnC2O4 . 2N(2)H(4). On reaction of MSO(4) with hydrazinium oxalate, double oxalates of Co, Ni and Co of general formulae Co(NH3NH3)(C2O4)(2) . 2H(2)O, Ni-2(NH3NH3)(C2O4)(3) . 4H(2)O, and Cu(NH2NH3)(2)(C2O4)(2) . H2O were obtained. The complexes obtained were characterized by elemental analysis, X-ray powder patterns, IR spectroscopy, and TG and DTA techniques.
