Theoretical Behavior of Concentration Cells Based on ABO(3) Perovskite Materials with Protonic and Oxygen-Ion Conduction
An equivalent circuit for open circuit conditions was derived to describe the transport properties of ABO(3) perovskite materials with protonic, oxygen ion and electronic conduction when the composition of the atmosphere is a variable. The open circuit model can be used for interpreting the results of concentration cells, which might be useful to study the relevant material properties of this type of materials. This model is also used to discuss the basic features and limitations of potentiometric gas sensors based on this type of materials.
