Metathesis of hexene-1 in presence of WOCl4/Al2O3-SiO2/RnM catalytic system.
Experiments were carried out on metathesis of hexene-1 at room temperature in the stationary system in presence of the WOCl4/Al2O3,-SiO2/ /R11M catalytic system (R-ethyl, M-Al, or R-butyl, M-Sn). It has been stated that reaction is accompanied by isomerisation of the unsaturated bond location and by cometathesis of olefins formed in the process. Yield of particular reactions depended on the support composition and kind of metalalkyl compound used. In the tested systems, centers of catalytic methathesis are formed on aluminosilicate and silicate surfaces and isomerisation centers only on aluminosilicate ones. Catalyst activated with triethylaluminum are less active but more selective then those activated with tetrabutyltin. Experiments with selected catalysts were also carried out in a flow reactor.
