There has been investigated the possibility of zinc acetate removal from carbon support of vinyl acetate synthesis catalysts by leaching with water of diluted acids. The effect of chemical structure of the support is analyzed from the point of view of the salt deposition by impregnation and its removal. The optimum parameters of zinc acetate removal from spent catalyst, enabling the recovery of fully useful carbon adsorbent are determined.
