A study of beta-azidoethylamino-3-nitro-1,2,4-triazole-5-onate
The title compound (AANTO) has been first synthesized, and its molecular structure and crystal structure have been determined. The preliminary applications in hydroxy-terminated polybutadiene propellant (HTPB) and composite modified double base propellant (CMDB) showed that replacement of part of ammonium perchlorate (AP) or HMX by AANTO could reduce the combustion temperature greatly and improve the specific impulse to some extent.
