Survey of fire hazard classification systems for liquids
This article discusses classification systems for describing fire hazards of flammable and combustible liquids that might need to be applied by U.S. companies in order to comply with domestic or international regulations and standards. Despite international efforts to obtain uniform terms and definitions there continues to be a number of obstacles in the way of harmonized classification criteria, including the significant differences that currently exist between fire hazard classification systems developed and used in the U.S.
