Genetic Approach to the Intensification of Rhizobium-Leguminosarum BV Viciae Symbiotic Nitrogen-Fixation
Comparisons of the influence on rhizobial nitrogen fixation of the symbiotic plasmid pJB5JI and its recombinant derivative pRL-NN1, considered as having two copies of nod-fix genes, were carried out. The pRL-NN1 plasmid was superior to pJB5JI in Nod(-)Fix(-) Rhizobium leguminosarum 16015 and in Hup(+) Nod(+)Fix(+) R. leguminosarum strain 250a, which was also effective in field trials.
