Production of Protease by Bacillus-Amyloliquefaciens in Solid-State Fermentation and Its Application in the Unhairing of Hides and Skins
Cultural conditions have been optimised for the production of proteases by Bacillus amyloliquefaciens in solid-state fermentation. Maximal enzyme activity was produced at 37 degrees C with an aeration of 4 litre/min in a laboratory-fabricated horizontal tray reactor. The enzyme produced was used for the unhairing of hides and skins.
