Biosorption of Hexavalent Chromium by Yeasts
Different species of yeast exhibit noticeable differences in their ability to sorb Cr(VI). The sorption ability of dehydrated cells is considerably higher than that of intact cells and optimal sorption of chromium rakes place at physiological (30 degrees C) or elevated (45 degrees C) temperatures.
