The development of water resources in the Caribbean island of Trinidad has lagged behind the other aspects of its socioeconomic development. This paper outlines the underlying causes for the underdevelopment of the island＇s water resources and presents a critical review of its current state. Further, it is hoped that this paper will serve as a useful background for planning a modern study for improving the management of Trinidad＇s water resources.
