Experimental Results on an Axial High-Gradient Magnetic Filter Cell with Bounded Flow-Field
This work presents the experimental results obtained with a high gradient magnetic tilter (HGMF) cell in an axial configuration that has been theoretically analysed in a previous work. The experiments were performed using a liquid suspension of paramagnetic particles with diameters of tens of micrometers and the efficiency measurements were performed by weighing the mass of the material captured until saturation. The measurements were done at different values of the applied magnetic field intensity, flow velocity of the liquid suspension and the ferromagnetic wire length. The experimental results obtained were then compared with the theoretical results, and good agreement was achieved between them.
