Synthesis of Polyesters as Binders for Deinkable Inks .3. Structural Study by High-Resolution C-13 and H-1-NMR Spectroscopies of the Copolyesterification Between O-Phthalic Anhydride, Oleic-Acid and Neopentyl Glycol in Bulk at 205-Degrees-C
Analysis of the copolyesterification in bulk without any external catalyst at 205 degrees C between o-phthalic anhydride, oleic acid and neopentyl glycol (2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediol) with a mole ratio ([-COOH]/[-OH]) = 0.70 has been carried out by high resolution C-13 and H-1 n.m.r. The different polymeric sequences and several monomeric structures formed during the copolyesterification have been identified and quantitatively determined.
