The results of work by the present authors on the production of polycationic forms of faujasite-type zeolites, their physicochemical investigation and also a study of their catalytic properties in the alkylation of isobutane by butenes are generalized. Ideas are developed concerning an active centre of the catalyst as a system consisting of Bronsted and Lewis centres.
