Study of the formation of associates of formaldehyde with O-alkylphenols
A study has been made of the interaction between hydrated formaldehyde and o-alkylphenols with different alkyl substituents. It has been established for the first time that, under the conditions investigated, o-monoalkylphenols and hydrated formaldehyde combine to produce associates in the form of H-complexes, and here their stability increases with increasing length of the alkyl substituent of the o-alkylphenol.
