HYDROGENATION OF OXYGEN-CONTAINING ALICYCLIC COMPOUNDS WITH THE USE OF FINELY DISPERSED CATALYSTS BASED ON PLATINUM-GROUP METALS
An investigation has been made of the hydrogenation of the double bonds of 5,6-epoxy-ciscyclo-octene and 5-cyclo-octene-1,2-diol acid the hydrogen reduction of cycle-octyl hydroperoxide in the presence of finely dispersed catalysts based on platinum group metals. The process indices have been assessed as a function of the nature of the metal, the support, the solvent and the reaction conditions. The kinetic parameters have been determined, and the mechanism of formation of products is proposed. Carrying out reactions at atmospheric pressure and moderate temperatures showed the effectiveness of using finely dispersed catalysts,
