The current status and outlook for future development of information technologies, their implementation for oil production management in domestic companies are analyzed. An attempt is made to formalize all information technologies, which are covered by the overview of the abovementioned subject, so as to avoid being subjective in putting forward opinions and conclusions. The need is established for development of new, fully computerized information technologies, which use permanently functioning geological-technological models, as the basis for decision making.
