Photochromic Properties of Novel Spirooxazines of the Naphthalene and Phenanthrene Series in Polymeric Films
Novel spirooxazines of the naphthalene and phenanthrene series have been synthesized and studied in PMMA. All of them were found to be photochromic, with high fatigue resistance depending strongly on the structure of the oxazine moiety and substituents in the fragments of the spirocyclic molecule. The efficiency of the photocoloration depends mainly on the steric factors.
