Crystallographic data for ultrasound- and microwave-treated fullerene C-60
Ultrasound (20 kHz) and monomode (300 W, 2.45 GHz) microwave treatments were used to obtain almost pure fullerene C-60 from extract mixtures. These unusual treatments appear very efficient with these materials. The crystallographic structures were systematically determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns before and after treatments. This allowed detection of structures known (such as C-60-n-heptane) and unknown.
