An interpretation of the formation of alpha- and beta-form crystals in bulk syndiotactic polystyrene
The crystallization of the alpha- and beta-form crystals of syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS) is determined by the crystallization temperature. Being crystallized at various temperatures from the melt, sPS forms the beta form crystal at high temperatures above about 230 degrees C, alpha form crystal at law temperatures below about 170 degrees C and a mixture of the alpha and beta form at intermediate temperatures.
