Chain Conformations at Semicrystalline Interphases
The structure of a semicrystalline interphase is obtained from an enumeration of all the chain conformations at the crystal surface. In our model study, 40% of the chains exiting the crystal immediately reenter its surface at an adjacent site. Our study also indicates that the amorphous phase retains some of the order present in the crystal over a distance much larger than previously anticipated.
